Leonard, Thomas L., Sr. - of Montrose, age 86, died Sunday, March 31, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 1-8 PM and on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM. Burial will follow in Montrose Township Cemetery.
Tom was born August 3, 1932, in Mooresville, North Carolina to the late Thomas and Margaret (Mills) Leonard. He married Patricia Freeze on August 11, 1957. She preceded him in death on December 22, 1999. Tom later married Mary Millendez on March 27, 2004. He had resided in Montrose since 1974. He retired from Buick Motor Division - Plant 36 in 1988 with 34 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 599. Tom enjoyed touring on his motorcycle, classic cars, and spending time with family.
Surviving are: Wife, Mary; 6 children: Thomas Larry (Sadie) Leonard of Montrose, Pam (Ron) Green of Clare, Kelly Lindquist of New Lothrop, Tim Leonard of South Carolina, Shannon (Albert) Becker of South Carolina, and Katie (Kirk) Evan of Montrose; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; Sister, Genevieve Goodman of N.C. Tom was also preceded in death by his wife, Patsy, in 1999, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
