KLOPF, John “Jack” Erwin – of Clio, age 59, died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at McLaren Healthcare in Flint. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 Am Friday, August 10, 2018 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 1-8 PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
John was born June 8, 1959 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Donald and Jeannette (Burns) Klopf. He grew up in Bridgeport, Michigan and graduated from Bridgeport High School with the class of 1977. He served his country in the US Air Force from February 25, 1980 to February 29, 2000. On August 3, 1985 he married Mura Hoover in Mt Morris, Michigan. John retired from the Air Force with 20 years of service and then worked for the US Postal Service for several years. He liked old cars, classic rock music, comedy movies, and his 1967 Baricuda car. He was an easy going guy who always thought of others before himself. He loved his family, his dog, Molly and was a man of very few words.
Surviving are: Wife, Mura; Children, Stephanie (Joe) Cartwright, Staci (Tom) Madden; Grandchildren, Thomas Madden, Garrett Madden, Brenden Madden, Lara Cartwright, Gage Cartwright; Siblings, Thomas Klopf, Bill Klopf, Vicky Ryder, Rebecca Klopf; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and his dog Molly.
