Glen Carl Passow Jr.
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend

Age 81, of Owosso, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Michael O’Brien officiating. Glen will be laid to rest at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Glen was born on May 2, 1944, in Owosso, the cherished son of Glen and Dorothy (Otto) Passow. He graduated from Owosso High School with the Class of 1962. Shortly after graduation, he proudly answered the call to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps, exemplifying a lifelong commitment to duty, strength, and integrity.

A man of deep faith and fellowship, Glen was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, the American Legion, and the Owosso Country Club. His Marine Corps rifleman ranking became part of family legend-none can recall him ever missing a shot. An avid outdoorsman, Glen found great joy in deer and pheasant hunting, fishing, golfing, and simply relaxing on his patio. Higgins Lake and his cherished trips out west brought him special happiness.

Glen was known for his easy going nature, steady presence, and generous heart. He valued friendship deeply and welcomed everyone without judgment. Above all, he treasured his family. He attended the school activities of his beloved granddaughters, Stella and Sylvia, taking immense pride in all they did. In the face of illness, Glen showed remarkable courage, meeting each day with strength and grace while making the very best of his circumstances.

On August 27, 1966, he married the love of his life, Marlene Butcher, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Owosso. Together they shared nearly 59 years of unwavering love, partnership, and devotion. Glen was a kind, thoughtful, fun-loving husband and a true example of what it means to be a devoted partner.

Glen began his career at Global Union in Owosso before completing his Journeyman’s Program to become a Millwright. He went on to dedicate more than 30 years to General Motors, retiring in 2006. He deeply valued the friendships he formed throughout his career, especially those with Louie Pastor and Denny Herman.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marlene Passow; his sons, Thomas Passow and Keith (Jen) Passow; his treasured granddaughters, Stella and Sylvia Passow; his siblings, Carol (Morris) Fitzgerald, Sue (Roger) Nelson, and Jerry Passow; his special friend, Terry Holzhausen; and many other loving family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Sr. and Dorothy Passow, and his brother, Tom Passow.

We are especially grateful to the staff of Memorial Healthcare Long Term Care Unit and Hospice for their kindness, dedication, and the exceptional care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Healthcare Hospice or Homeless Angels.
