DePOTTEY, Joanne Theresa (Dubuc) – of Burton, MI, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint, MI 48506; Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. A Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home Wednesday night at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Joanne was born in Flint, MI on February 25, 1933, daughter of the late John and Mary Dubuc. She married Wyman DePottey on April 19, 1952, in Flint, MI. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2015. Joanne’s greatest accomplishment was being the mother of 11 children. In addition to raising her children, she was the chief bookkeeper and gopher for DePottey Excavating. Member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Davison Knights of Columbus. In addition to playing cards and spending time with her many dear friends, she spent the last nine years as a participant and avid spokesperson of Ascension Living PACE Michigan Program. In her spare time she loved bowling, so much so that when health no longer allowed, she found Wii bowling to fill the void. She will be very much missed by all who knew her.
Joanne is survived by her children, Linda Ayers, Sue (Eric) West, Janice Boughner, Brad (Peggy) DePottey, Ron (Corey) DePottey, Tim (Bridget) DePottey, Tom (Sandy) DePottey, Roy (Sue) DePottey, Jim (Jenny) DePottey, Karen DePottey, Kevin (Tammy) DePottey; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wyman; grandson, Brett Ayers; son-in-law, Rick Ayers.
