BLACK, Orthella M. "Ella" - of Clio, age 85, died Monday, May 5, 2014 at her residence surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, May 9, 2014 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Leonard A. Astrowski officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1PM until 8PM and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the family. Ella was born on January 1, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to the late Clarence and Doris (Schultz) Sather. She married Byron Black on November 22, 1947 in Birch Run. They enjoyed 66 years together. Byron preceded her in death on January 29, 2014. Mrs. Black retired from Fisher Coldwater with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW local #326. Ella enjoyed watching TV and working on crossword puzzles. Surviving are: son, Brian (Janette) Black of Clio; granddaughter, Melissa Black of Clio. Orthella was preceded in death by her son, Michael Black in 1984; sisters, Arlene Murphy and Maxine Leix; brothers, Duane and Myron Sather.
