Richard Leo Jenkins - of Clio, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, on his way to work at his business of 64 years. The Service Station opened in August of 1958, making it one of the original businesses established in Mt. Morris. He was a hardworking, respected and well-liked member of the community. He will be greatly missed by all those he helped throughout his life.

Leo was born to Donald and Margaret Ann (O’Rourke) Jenkins on January 27, 1932. Leo graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1950. Farming was a big part of his life, he served as the FFA President of his chapter and was a member of 4H. On August 16, 1952, he married the love of his life, Sally Rasch - together they had 3 children. Their life was filled with family gatherings and much love. He was a Veteran who served in the Korean War. He enjoyed attending tractor shows, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, and watching sports with friends Joe, Kenny and his longtime friend, Dick Gillespie who he met in 1942. Leo also enjoyed attending a wide variety of functions involving his children, and his grandchildren. Family was the most important part of his life.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and his beloved wife, Sally. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters: Son, Mark and Kelly Jenkins, and their daughter, Heidi and her husband Todd Lienemann; Daughter, Jill Jenkins, and her children: Trevor Moore, and his daughter, Skylar, Brent Moore and his wife, Meggan Freeland-Moore, Carly and her husband, Chris Johnson, Matt Jenkins and his children: Nicholas and his wife, Tera Jenkins and their daughter: Hailey, and Kelsey Jenkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whose lives are filled with wonderful memories of their lives with Leo and Sally.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM Thursday, January 27, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning officiating. In the spring, Leo and Sally will be interred together at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Please sign our guest book or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
