A Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Allen Sudmann officiating. Interment will take place in Milton Township Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive visitors 5-7 PM Friday, October 9, 2026, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Sherron was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on February 10, 1947, to James Earl Hackett and Doris
Lucille (Adams) Hackett. She attended Douglas MacArthur High School, graduating in 1965. During high school, Sherron participated in track, synchronized swimming, dance, and baton. She was also an artist from an early age, displaying her artwork as early as eighth grade and receiving numerous awards for her work throughout high school.

Some of Sherron’s happiest childhood memories were spent on her parents’ boat and at her grandparents’ cottages at Higgins Lake and in Oscoda, Michigan. Those summers helped foster her lifelong love of sunshine, water, boating, and the outdoors.

In the fall of 1965, Sherron attended Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. While standing in the registration line—long before computers—she met Robert “Bob” Garrow. They began dating, joking that they didn’t want to get too seriously involved. That plan didn’t last long. They married on August 27, 1966, before beginning their sophomore year together.

Sherron earned her degree from Central Michigan University with majors in Art and History. After Bob graduated, they moved to his hometown of Davison, Michigan, where they built their life together and raised their family.

Sherron and Bob were blessed with four children: Robert Jr., James, Brian, and Mishelle. While raising their children, Sherron was deeply involved in every part of their busy lives. She helped in Bob’s real estate business. She ran several areas of the company, most notably marketing and advertising, where her creativity helped the business grow. She was busy running her kids to their many activities and taught Missionary Cadets to children at church. She was a devoted mother who somehow always found a way to make room for everyone and everything.

Their family spent summers at Torch Lake, creating a lifetime of treasured memories. Their backyard was a place filled with sunshine, boating, water skiing, fishing, swimming, and wading in the crystal-clear waters of Torch Lake that Sherron loved. Hosting family gatherings and holidays at the lake became one of her greatest joys. We feel so blessed that Sherron spent her final days overlooking the beautiful view of Torch Lake.

Sherron was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an artist, the ultimate DIY-er, and she had a natural gift for design and decorating. She loved transforming homes and spaces, and she had an eye for beauty, warmth, and detail. She and Bob purchased and renovated many homes, including beautiful properties on Elk Lake and Torch Lake. She loved taking an older house and turning it into something special, decorating each space with her own extraordinary taste and flair.

In her 40’s, Sherron returned to Central Michigan University, where she pursued an undergraduate degree in Psychology. Among her classmates were two of her own sons, Rob and James. She continued on to Oakland University and earned her master’s degree in Counseling.

Her faith in Jesus was at the heart of who she was. Sherron had a deep desire to help women, children, and families find healing through Christ’s grace. She joined a group of Christian counselors from the Davison Missionary Church to help establish Belsey Christian Counseling Center. Her focus and enthusiasm was for children, and woman, and families.

As her children grew and no longer needed their mother to be their constant taxi, Sherron began spending winters in sunny Florida. She loved pool days, relaxing in the sunshine, and of course shopping. It became another special place where she could enjoy life and make memories with those she loved.

On August 1, 2007, Sherron suffered a massive right-brain stroke. Doctors said it was a miracle that she survived. After extensive rehabilitation, she regained some of her motor skills and courageously continued moving forward with her life. Though the stroke changed many things, it never took away her determination, her creativity, her faith, or her love for her family.

Sherron leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, creativity, strength, and devotion to her family.
Her life was filled with sunshine, lakes, laughter, faith, and an unwavering love for those around
her. Though her family will miss her beyond words, they will carry her memories in every
summer day on the water, every big Christmas that she loved showering her family with gifts,
every family gathering, and every moment filled with the love she so freely gave. Sherron is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert “Bob” Garrow; her sister, Janet (John) Nickless; her son, James (Tera) Garrow; her daughter, Mishelle (Andrew) Vos; her beloved grandchildren, Keegan Garrow, Victoria (Mitchell) Lilley, Matthew Garrow, Jr., Isabella Garrow, Quincy Garrow, Jackson Garrow, Alexandra Garrow, Jacob Garrow, Lanse Vos, Blaykston Vos, and Ranger Garrow; and her niece, Amy Hogan. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Earl Hackett and Doris Lucille (Adams) Hackett; her brother, James Hackett, Jr.; and her sons, Robert Garrow, Jr. and Brian Garrow. Her greatest legacy is the love she planted in the hearts of her family – a love that will continue to grow for generations to come.
