PERSONS, Max W. – of Montrose, age 87, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at McLaren Flint. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, October 24, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 1PM until 8PM, and on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Carriage Town Mission in Flint.
Max was born December 24, 1934, in Oakley, Michigan, to the late David and Virginia (Hill) Persons. He graduated from Chesaning High School in 1953. Max married Janice Kennewell in 1955, and she lost her battle with cancer in 1988. Max later married Nancy (Wilkinson) Crimi, in 1990. In the 1970’s, he was the treasurer of the Village of Montrose. Max was a member of the Democratic party and campaigned for candidates, he was also involved with the Montrose High School boosters and active in the Montrose Blueberry Committee. He retired from Complete Auto Transit as a car hauler, Teamsters Local #332, and Central States in Flint. Max loved traveling and would spend half the year in Florida until traveling long distances became difficult; He still loved trips to Mount Pleasant to spend time with family. Max will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are: Wife, Nancy Persons; Sons: Kevin (Cindy) Persons, Kenton Persons, and Michael Persons; Stepchildren: Joseph (Nicole) Crimi, and Michele Crimi; Grandchildren: Jennifer (Nate) Grossbauer, Niya (Dennis) Gross, Ashley Vance, Lindsay (Chad) Wathen, Addison Crimi, and Grayson Crimi; Great grandchildren: Noah, Vada, Macie, D.J., Jaxson, Gavin, Colton, and Malia; Brother, Rex (Marie) Persons; Several nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends. Max was also preceded in death by: Son, David J. Persons; Daughter, Kim Vance; Stepfather, Cloyd “Shorty” Persons; Stepmother, LaDonna Persons.
