PICKELMAN, Michael - of Gladwin, formerly of Davison, age 65 passed away on Sunday August 2nd, 2026 after a short battle with cancer. Michael was at his home in Gladwin surrounded by his family. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service per Mike’s wishes.
Mike was born in Flint, MI on October 8th, 1960, son of the late Albert and Virginia Pickelman. Mike owned and operated Quality Floors Inc. for over 30 years. He took great pride in his business and the service he provided his customers. Mike was a member of the Davison Country Club for several years, where he made life long friendships. He enjoyed river fishing for salmon and trout. Upon retirement, he built a cabin in Northern Michigan that he enjoyed with great friends and family. He loved a good sunset, especially the ones he watched from his cabin’s deck. Mike was well known for making margaritas for all to share, surrounded by good music and conversation.
Mike is survived by his son, Jack Pickelman; daughter Leah (Jason) Kish. He was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Landon Kish, Lillian Kish, Josie Kish and Lucy Pickelman. Mike is also survived by his sisters, Cheryl Kuzma and Patricia O’Dell. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 34 years, Jacqueline Pickelman and his parents, Albert and Virginia Pickelman.
We appreciate his childhood friend, Bradley Craig, for his life long friendship and all the care he helped provide the last couple of months. We would also like to thank McLaren Hospice and Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute. Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
