Mr. David Andrew Polite was born August 20, 1936 in Gallatin, Tennessee, to the late Bide and Mary Polite. David retired from A.C. Spark Plug after 44 years of service. He also was a cosmetologist. David was a member of Canaan Baptist Church, UAW Local 651, NAACP, and Evergreen Estates Neighborhood Association. He enjoyed golf and played on several leagues. David was also an excellent basketball player.
Mr. David A. Polite leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Ann C. (Taylor) Polite of 45 years; daughter, Heather Polite-Scott; 2 grandchildren, Taylor Scott and Donald Scott II; brother, James Bide (Juanita) Polite of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Marcia Taylor; nephews, James II (Gloria) Polite of Murfreesboro, TN, and Homer Barr of Gallatin, TN; nieces, Mary Polite of Nashville, TN, Tracy (Eric) Polite-Johnson of Knoxville, TN, Estella Walker of Plainfield, IN; great-nephews, James Polite III, Jonquez Giddens, Nicholas James Johnson and Darrell Barr; great-nieces, Eboni Polite, LaKresia Polite, Dequince Barr, Deborah Barr and Angela Walker; great great-nephew, Maison Polite; many friends and other relatives.
Mr. Polite was preceded in death by his parents, Bide and Mary Polite; sisters, Gussie Head and Ossie Oldham, and Fannie Margaret Polite; nephews, Williams Barr, and William Parker Head.
The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Charles E. Roots and Canaan Baptist Church Family, Dr. Hugo Negrete, M.D., Dr. Rizwan Danish, M.D., and staff, Dr. RaviKumar Peddireddy, M.D., Martha Bard, and Avalon Hospice staff.
