SEFA, Joseph James - Of Goodrich, age 86, died Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm Friday, July 3, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423.
Reverend Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating.
Burial in Goodrich Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LaVigne Home in Burton.
Visitation 12pm Friday at church until the time of the Mass.
Joe was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 6, 1939, the son of the late Fred and Lillian Sefa. Joe graduated from Goodrich High School. He graduated from Oklahoma University where he excelled at playing football and was coached by Bud Wilkinson. Joe proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. He graduated from Cooley Law School in East Lansing where he earned his law degree, Joe opened his own law practice, Davison Legal Associates and retired after 33 years of practicing law.
Surviving are wife, Linda Sefa and her son, Matthew Pierson;
Sons, Jason Sefa and Damon (Dana) Sefa;
Grandchildren, Tristen, Ella, Aidan and Gabriel;
Sisters, Joan Turner of Grand Blanc and Diana Watson of Arizona.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daniel Sefa.
