Donna Arnell (Griswold) Ryan, of Chesaning, passed away at Union Court on September 7th, 2026 at the age of 88.
Donna was born in 1938 in Durand, Michigan. Donna was the daughter of Benjamin and Ellen (Rice) Griswold. The family later moved to Stanwood, Michigan where Donna graduated from Morley-Stanwood High School class of 1955.
Donna married James Patrick Ryan in June of 1958. They made their home in Chesaning and were married for 65 years. They traveled to Ireland and various places in the United States, (a few favorites, Hawaii with the Rehmann’s, Florida & California). They spent summers on Wixom Lake. Donna was a para professional for both Our Lady grade school and Big Rock Elementary.
Donna is survived by her children: Roberta (Ken) Dankert, Daniel (Theresa) Ryan, David (Pam) Ryan; grandchildren: Ellen (Brent), Erin (Josh), Zachary (Rachel), Madison (Omar), Dakota (Sarah) and great granddaughter Ivy James Devereaux. Special nieces: Denese & Robin.
She was preceded in death by her husband James (2024), her parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Anyone wishing to donate in her memory, please consider River Rapids Library or any reading program that brings joy! |
