GATES, Betty Ann – of Davison, age 86, passed away September 7, 2014 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, September 12, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Barbara Benjamin officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Thursday and 10-11 AM Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Richfield United Methodist Church.
Betty was born in Flint, MI on July 26, 1928, daughter of the late Robert and Golda (Miller) Gocha. She married Richard B. Gates on September 20, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2007. Betty was a lifetime member of Richfield United Methodist Church where she was Choir Director for 50 years. She also was a member of the Presidents Club. Betty loved music, gardening and sewing.
Betty is survived by her children, David (Lois), Daniel (Kathy), Laura (Walt) See, Peggy (Kim) Katzmark, Johannah (Scottie) Taylor, Mary Lou (Steve) Kleeman and Cheryl (Scott) Colles; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen Fridline and Margaret Palmer. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
