Newbery, Lyle E., age 92, of Otter Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 4, 2019 with family by his side. A funeral service will be held Saturday August 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home in Otisville Michigan with Pastor Bruce Lawton officiating. Internment immediately following in Otter Lake Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Lyle was born June 22, 1927, and resided in Otter Lake for the majority of his life. He married Neva J. Brown of Millington, Michigan on December 1, 1951. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2013. Lyle worked at many different jobs during his life until he owned and operated his own radiator shop for many years. Lyle gave back to his community by serving several years on the Village Council in Otter Lake. He also was a member of the local volunteer fire department for 25 years, serving many of those as fire chief. Lyle was an avid fisherman and he looked forward to his summers spent at Loons Point Campground in Cedarville, Michigan. Left to cherish his memory are daughters Sandra (Dennis) Garner, Lynda (Joe) Krapohl. Grandchildren: Jodi (Chris) Montague, Dustin (Michelle) Pettit, Heather (Chris) McInerney, Heidi (Steve) Fortinberry, and Jeremy Krapohl. Great Grandchildren: Paige and Lana Montague, Jessica Myers, Alex and Brendan McInerney, Justin and Carleigh Pettit, Sydne, Jordan, and Kaylee Owens. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Blanche Newbery; siblings Ida Sutherby, Rhoda McComb, Charles Newbery, and James Newbery.
