JARRELL, Lona M. – of Flint, age 87, passed away April 21, 2014 at Willowbrook Manor. Cremation has taken place. There will be visitation only 11 AM – 1 PM Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Old Newsboys of Flint.
Lona was born in Dexter, MO on January 22, 1927, daughter of the late Everett and Mamie (Sturgeon) McRoy. At the age of 16, she struck out on her own and moved north to Michigan. Lona started a family and made Michigan her home. She loved spending time with her family. Lona also enjoyed going on trips with her lady friends.
Lona is survived by her children, Keith (Sandra) Cox, Kenneth (Patricia) Cox; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Jarrell; son, Russell Cox; three sisters and two brothers.
