PRENTICE, BRYAN – Of Flushing, age 70, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Hurley Hospital. Visitation will be held from 11am – noon on Thursday, February 19, 2026 with a memorial service officiated by High Priest Carl Nichols, immediately following at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Cremation has taken place. Bryan was born on October 22, 1955 in Flint and lived in Davison and Flushing as an adult. He married Becky Sanborn in 1973 and they had 3 children. He married Tammy Wrubel in 2011. Bryan retired from Chevrolet Motor Division in 2009 after many years of service. He was always telling stories of his time in “the shop” which were usually hilarious. He loved to make people laugh. After retirement, he started Bryan’s Smokin’ BBQ and became an expert at smoking meats and serving fantastic meals. He catered weddings, open houses, office parties and just about any venue where folks wanted good BBQ. Bryan was also an extraordinary handyman and expert carpenter that could fix or build just about anything. He made decks for his family’s homes and repaired his Flushing home and helped repair friends’ and families’ homes. In his retirement, his newfound love was his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He rode with friends through the countryside and all over the state. Bryan was a remarkable person and was loved by many. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Wilma Prentice; his sister, Joanna Prentice; and his granddaughter, Rayna. He is survived by his first wife, Becky Prentice and second wife, Tammy Prentice; his daughters, Joanna Boshaw (Jeff) and Jenny Prentice; his son, Adam Prentice (Candi); his step-children, Jake and Ariel; his grandsons Bryan, Alex and Mason; his granddaughters, Sydney, Samantha, Olivia and Rain; great-granddaughter, Terra; 2 sisters, Jayna Stout and Janice Prentice; and brother, Roy Prentice. |
