Marilyn Beth Brinks age 73 of Genesee Township, passed away December 12, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday December 15, at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel Downtown Davison, Deacon Dan Zudel officiating with burial at Davison Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 11:00am Sunday until time of service. Marilyn was born September 11, 1940 in Sturgis, Michigan the daughter of late Walter and Jean (Powers) Outman. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1958 and married David Brinks (whom she started dating at age 14) on April 23, 1960. Marilyn and David had three children, Daniel, Christopher, and Sheryl. Marilyn started working for Judge Perlango in Plymouth at age 14. She later worked for the Flint Education Association, the City of Flint Magistrate’s Office, and was deeply involved in Environmental Education at Armstrong Middle School in the Kearsley District while the school was being built, trees planted and a pond dug. Marilyn was an accomplished artist, painter, had a keen eye for flower arranging and home decorating, and owned her own porcelain and china business for over 25 years, “Porcelains by Marilyn”. She enjoyed hosting family get-togethers and numerous cruises with her husband and friends. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be deeply missed. She leaves behind her husband of 53 years, David; her three children Daniel, Christopher and wife Renee, Sheryl Wood and husband Daniel; 11 grandchildren Candace, Emily, Taralyn, Jacob, Eric, Kristen, Joshua, Hannah, Heather, Sarah, and Nathan; and 7 great grandchildren, Kylie, Gony, Sarah, Aaliyah, Harper, Charlotte, and Benjamin; 2 brothers: John Outman and wife Denise, Thomas Outman, and sister, Carol Sue Behm.
