BROWN, Aurick C. “Ike” – of Davison, Michigan, age 87, passed away on March 26, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Mt. Morris Community Church, 7245 N. Center Rd., Mt. Morris, MI 48458; Rev. Daniel Sherman and Pastor Aaron Burton officiating. Interment will take place following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church from 11 AM until the time of service.
Ike was born in Afton, Michigan, on February 1, 1938, to the late Frank and Iva (Hawley) Brown. He married Grace Jupe on January 21, 1967, in Flint, Michigan.
From 1955 to 1959, Ike proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as part of the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) unit. Following his service, he worked at Michigan Lumber until his retirement in 1996. During his career at Michigan Lumber, he honed his woodworking skills, creating remarkable pieces for places such as Crossroads Village, Sloan Museum, and Genesys Regional Hospital. His love for woodworking continued as he handcrafted beautiful lathe turnings and woodwork for family and friends, especially the highly sought after pieces he created for the annual family reunion auctions. In 1996, Ike became a grandfather—a role that brought him immense joy. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking them on camping trips, making cherished memories along the way. A passionate fan of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, he also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and family softball games. Music and dancing were among his greatest pleasures. Known for his generosity, Ike was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, craftsmanship, and love for family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Ike is survived by his wife of 57 years, Grace; children: Steven Aurick (Kristi) Brown and Kelly (Terry) Traver; grandchildren: Jesse (Breanna) Traver, Bryce Sullivan, Kasey Brown, Zoe Traver, and Grace (Tyler Morrish) Brown; great grandchildren: Brayden Morley, McKenna Morrish, TJ Morrish, Haven Traver, Sophia Sullivan, and Jordan Sullivan; siblings: Patricia (Larry) Looze, Joe (Sandy) Brown, and Margaret Channel; many special nieces and nephews and several other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents; siblings: Helen Orns, Robert “Bob” Brown, Harry Brown, Jean (Buzz) Wager, Fred Brown, Frank Brown, and Jeanette Hendershot.
