WRIGHT, Donald R. – Of Flint, age 86.
Donald left this world on Saturday, June 27, 2026, after a short time in hospice care.
Donald was born on October 7, 1939, in Florence, Alabama to parents Willie and Edith Wright.
Donald was a tremendous people person and was generous with all of those who he befriended throughout his lifetime. He was also generous with those he had never met through his lifelong commitment as a blood donor. Donald retired from General Motors and continued to work as a security guard in area hospitals until shortly before the time of his passing. It was said of him that "he was very easy to love".
Funeral service will be at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1291 Bristol Road, Flint on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 1pm. Visitation from 11am until the time of service at the church. Pastor Jon Gildner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make contributions may do so to the Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County (https://shiawasseehospice.org).
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Donald leaves to cherish his memory, Two sons, Rusty and wife Laurie, Shannon and wife Suzette;
Two grandsons, Gunner and wife Sydney, and Noah;
Great granddaughter, Sophia;
Beloved sister Kay Cameron and husband Charlie;
Nieces Vicky Tubbs and husband Tim, Melissa Hall, and Kaitlin Anderson and husband Carter and families;
Nephew Steven Wright and wife Lisa and family.
Donald is reunited in heaven with the love of his life, The Honorable Sandra S. Wright;
Loving parents Willie and Edith Wright;
Esteemed brother Aaron Wright and wife Jean.
