Shirley Ann Horton, age 89, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM, Friday, August 29, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Jim Nelson will preside with burial following at Davison Township Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek.
Shirley was born on June 21, 1936 in Flint the daughter of the late Conrad and Anna (Miller) Laube. Shirley and William Horton were united in marriage on September 16, 1955 in Davison. Sadly he preceded her in death on August 27, 1996. She retired from A & P, working as the head bookkeeper for 30 years and worked as the secretary for First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek until she was 80 years old. Shirley started walk-racing especially in the Crim Festival of Races where she always won 1st in her class. She raced until she was 84 years old.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Steve) Armour, Anne (Bill) Fast, Terri (Doug) Youngs and William (Kim) Horton III; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brother, Edwin Laube; numerous nieces and nephews; and many grand-puppies.
