ESSA, James Michael – of Flint, MI, age 66, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026. Cremation has taken place. Private inurnment in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice, in Jim’s memory.
Jim was a devoted brother, loyal friend and an endless creative soul. Though he left us too soon, he filled the lives of those around him with kindness, compassion, laughter and unwavering support.
He had a kind heart, lending anyone a hand, a listening ear or simply a steady presence. His friends and family knew they could count on him without hesitation. His creativity touched every part of his life.
Jim loved to cook, often surprising friends and family with homemade treats just because he wanted to brighten their day and make them happy. It was one of many ways he showed his thoughtfulness, making people feel cared for and remembered.
Jim was deeply loved by his family and by a wide circle of friends who became family to him. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled. He will be profoundly missed by his family, Colette Eric, Matthew and Bridget and by those who were lucky enough to know him. His warmth, creativity and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the memories he leaves behind.
