JONES, Samuel O’Neal – Of Grand Blanc, age 80, died Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Father Philip Schmitter officiating.
Visitation 10:30am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Samuel was born in Shannon, Mississippi on December 14, 1939, the son of Breman and Amilee (Troutman) Jones. He married Beverly Burks at Christ the King Church in 1962. He was a member of Christ the King Church for many years. He was also a member of First Class Travel Club. Samuel proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed going to the casino, playing the lottery, traveling, watching Family Feud and going for walks. Above all else he loved being with his family.
Surviving are wife, Beverly;
children, Jennifer (Mark) Mallory and Tracie Jones-Johnson;
granddaughter, Skyye Johnson;
mother, Amilee Barbee Troutman;
sister, Janet (Jesse) Davis;
sister-in-law, Peggy Blackwell;
niece, Stephanie Jones;
and great nephew, Ashton.
He was preceded in death by his father, many aunts, uncles, step-brothers and step-sisters.
