BOHLEN, Edward Gene – of Goodrich, age 91, passed away December 9, 2015 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 12 PM Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 AM-12 PM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Senior Priests Residence of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Edward was born in Mason, IA on April 4, 1924, son of the late Edward and Sara (Cross) Bohlen. He married Sylvia “Corky” Peifer on July 25, 1944 in Flint, MI. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison and was a devout catholic. Edward built hundreds of homes in the Goodrich area and helped develop Green-Ridge Estates. He loved Notre Dame University. Edward finally retired at the age of 90 after working for MTA, Bohlen Builders and Buick. He was a Goodrich school board member for over 10 years, a Knights of Columbus member and much, much more. Edward first and foremost loved his family.
Edward is survived by his wife, Corky; children, Thomas Bohlen, Timothy Bohlen, Shawn Fatheree, Scott Bohlen, Michael Bohlen and Jayme Simmonds; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his children, Jeffery Bohlen and Darlona Bohlen; siblings, Clinton, Ramona and Mary Ellen.
