SHAHEEN, Elaine Marie – Of Flushing, formerly of Flint, age 84, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Road, Flint.
Father Amin Houli, The Very Reverend Father Joseph Abud and Father Michael Bassett co-officiating.
Visitation 10am Saturday at church until the time of the service.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Elaine was born in Flint, Michigan on May 26, 1942, the daughter of the late William and Madeleine (Karam) Shaheen. Elaine was employed and retired as a nurse from McLaren-Flint Hospital. She was an active member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church and the Women’s Group at St. George. Elaine was chairman of the Apron Project and belonged to the Antiochian Women’s Group. She loved skiing, roller skating and participated in various craft fairs.
Surviving are sister, Gloria Nakfoor;
sister-in-law, Susan Shaheen;
nieces and nephews, Michelle Nakfoor, Esq., Dr. Bruce and wife Silvina Nakfoor Jr., Lisa Nakfoor, Esq., Dr. Matthew and wife Melissa Nakfoor, Andrea and husband Drew Gazis, Sara and husband Andrew Keller, Katie and husband, Philip Quackenboss;
many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William A. Shaheen Jr., and brother-in-law, Dr. Bruce Nakfoor Sr.
