RIVERA, Daniel Paul – of Burton, MI, age 78, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Road, Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Fr. Denis Spitzley celebrant. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in Daniel’s memory.

Daniel was born in Saginaw, MI on August 9, 1947, son of the late, Paul and Violet (Davenport) Rivera. He was a graduate of Kearsley High School, Class of 1966. On June 10, 1967, he married the love of his life, Elvia “Dee” Trujillo. Together they shared more than 57 years of love, devotion, and cherished memories until her passing on December 1, 2024. Daniel dedicated 40 years of faithful service to General Motors before retiring in 2006. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life. Daniel found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved camping and fishing, cheering on the Detroit Tigers, took pleasure in cooking and preparing delicious meals for those he loved, bowling, and taking trips to the casino. Whether spending time outdoors or gathered around the table with family and friends, he treasured every opportunity to create lasting memories. Above all else, Daniel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and provider. He was an incredibly hardworking man whose greatest source of pride was caring for his family. His quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, generous heart, and steadfast love were evident in everything he did. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, sacrifice, and unconditional love that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

Daniel is survived by 3 daughters, Tamara (Bryan) Bond, Kelly (Troy) Rivera-Craine and Danielle Rivera; 2 grandchildren, Anita (Jammie) Edwards and Connor Bond; 3 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Kiley and Isabella; 3 siblings, Fran Gay, Linda (John) Smith and Jeff (Karen) Rivera; 6 sisters-in-law, Yolanda Lipp, Irma Lane, Nora (Mark) Bass, Norma Hutchinson, Maria (Jim) MacFarlane and Susanna (James) Coryell; brother-in-law, Ernest (Sherry) Trujillo; 2 grand-doggies, Cooper and Miley; grand-cat, Oliver; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Violet Rivera; wife, Elvia “Dee” Rivera; brother, Ed Rivera; sister, Rita Crawford; parents-in-law, Alvaro and Aurora Trujillo; 5 brothers-in-law, Alvaro Trujillo, Jr., Alvaro “Pico” Trujillo, Jr., Patrick Lane, Melvin Hutchinson and John Lipp; beloved canine companion, Chelsea and grand-cat, Winston.
