With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Pamela Mae Sutherland, age 63, announces her passing on October 10, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia. Pamela lived a life devoted to God first, a life rooted in faith, devotion, compassion, and service to others.
After becoming a registered nurse, Pamela answered a higher calling, serving as a missionary nurse in Costa Rica and Honduras, where she shared her unwavering faith and cared for those in need with both skilled hands and a loving heart. Her mission work was an outward expression of her deep relationship with the Lord and her lifelong desire to serve Him by helping others.
Upon returning home, Pamela continued her professional career as a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Flint, Michigan, later working at Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. Known for her patience, empathy, and gentle touch, she treated every patient with the same love and compassion she showed her own family. Pamela continued to serve tirelessly, even as her health began to fail, working until she no longer could. Her strength and faith never faltered, and she remained a light of grace and determination until the very end.
Pamela was the beloved daughter of Herman and Wilma (Bellomy) Sutherland, both of whom preceded her in death. She will also be joining her dearly loved grandparents, Charlie and Lula Bellomy, and her precious nephews, Diego Peralta and Kenny Burton, in Heaven.
She leaves behind her three boys, as she always called them, Austin, Connor, and Chase Smith, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her loving siblings, LoRonda (James Craw), Sherry (Keith Sharp), Thelma (Daniel Keister), Jackie (Mauricio Peralta), and Herman Jr. (Becky Sutherland). In addition,
Pamela leaves behind five nieces, sixteen nephews, numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, as well as her dear aunt, Thelma Smith, and her sons Tim, Frank (Marsha), and Glenn Smith, all of whom she held close in prayer and in her heart.
Those who knew Pamela will remember her as a woman of unshakable faith, humble, kind, and steadfast in her love for the Lord. She lived each day as a reflection of her beliefs, sharing encouragement, compassion, and God’s word with everyone she met. “Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
A memorial will be held at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439. Pamela’s final resting place will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 3415 East Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Pamela’s light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She now rests peacefully in the presence of her Savior, reunited with her parents, grandparents, nephews, and embraced by the everlasting love she so deeply believed in.
