Gary Francis Stachowiak, age 74 of Grand Blanc, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018. He was born on January 26, 1944 in Flint to parents Walter and Helen (Wizgowski) Stachowiak. Gary graduated from Flint Central High School in 1961, earned a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1970 from Ferris State University, and a Master’s of Science in Administration in 1989 from Central Michigan University. In 1966 he married the love of his life, Rosemary (Caswell) Stachowiak. He worked as an Automation Engineer for 40 years before retirement. He was a self-proclaimed “history buff” who was constantly learning. Gary enjoyed the Detroit Tigers, auto racing, animals, and family get-togethers. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rosemary Stachowiak; children: John Stachowiak, Susan Stachowiak, and Kevin Stachowiak; brother, Daniel Stachowiak; four nephews; his little buddy, Andrew Tatay; and his three kitties, Nikki, Shelly, and Stephie. He was preceded in death by both parents. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw Street. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:30am. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society in Gary’s name. |
