CLAPP, Connie Sue (Clink)(McLeod), of Flint, age 70, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 12Noon Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Swartz Funeral Home 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Paul Ytterock officiating Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Take the Lead. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Sunday, 11a.m.-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.The Omega Service for Mrs. Clapp will begin promptly at 5:30 PM on Monday, November 18, 2013 followed by a tribute by the Gamma Delta Kudos at 6:00 PM. Mrs. Clapp was born in Flint, Michigan on April 6, 1943 and was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Smith) McLeod. She married Marvin Clapp on June 22, 1979 in Flint. Mrs. Connie Clapp was a member of The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Gamma Delta Chapter. She served as the Secretary and later became an outstanding Advisor to the Gamma Delta Kudos. She served on the boards of the Affenpincsher Club of America, Genesee County Kennel Club and Mid-Michigan Poodle Club. Mrs. Clapp showed dogs for 50 years and judged for the last 20 years, including judging overseas in China, Japan, Korea and many European countries. She was the American Kennel Club delegate for the Genesee County Kennel Club for over 25 years. Mrs. Clapp was a teacher for 30 years at Bunche and Scott Elementary Schools in Flint. Surviving are her husband, Marvin;
daughter, Paula (Bob) Whalen; grandchildren, Kacey and Cameron Whalen; sister-in-law, Terry McLeod; nephew, Kyle (Heather) McLeod;great-nephew, Walker; special friends, Patty (Tex) Peel, Jackie (Terry) Stacey, Bob Slay, Ann Marie (Jim) Taylor and Carl Liepmann.
