AMES, Susan A. - Of Grand Blanc, age 64, died Saturday, February 20, 2021 at her residence.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at a later date this year.
Susan was born in Flint, Michigan on December 13, 1956, the daughter of the late Harold and Marion (Martin) Ames. She graduated from Grand Blanc High School, Class of 1975. On August 2, 1986, she married Frank Baker. Susan made a career in retail sales working at Gantos, The Limited and most recently, Macys.
Susan enjoyed attending art fairs and craft shows. She loved gatherings and parties with family and friends. Sunday night dinners with family were one of her favorite events which she enjoyed for many years both with her siblings and in-laws. Sue adored shopping, shoes, custom made jewelry, and in the summer spending time at both her parents’ pool and at her husband’s family cottage. She was an impeccable dresser, loved to talk and could converse with anyone about any topic. She won numerous top selling awards while working in retail and had many loyal clients who insisted on dealing only with her.
Her grandson Jace, born this past May, was the light of her life. She was just over the moon happy to be a grandma.
Surviving are husband, Frank;
Son, Ryan Baker;
Grandson, Jace Baker;
Siblings, Pamela Eklund, Randy (Melaina) Ames, Mark (Laurie) Ames and Amy (Terri Porter) Ames;
And many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Ames.
