SHANNON, Virginia M.- of Davison, age 85, passed away April 3, 2018. Per Virginia’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
Virginia was born May 29, 1932 in Flint, MI, daughter of the late William and Anna (Bagley) Longmore. She married David Shannon on September 11, 1954. They had four children, David, Dannie, Bruce and Rose.
Virginia is survived by her son, Bruce (Donal) Shannon; daughter, Rose (Douglas) Tabor; grandchildren, David III, Jonathan, Rebecca, Shelby, Devon and Garrett; sister, Anna Jaquet; She was preceded in death by her husband David; sons, Dannie and David; brother, William; sisters, Marion Roper, Nellie Lucas, Louise Gasparich and Ruth Sutton. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.

Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

My Life's been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch,
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
