WOOLLEY, Joan Marie (Kitcher) – of Burton, MI, age 82, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at her residence. Cremation has taken place. A Private Memorial Service will be held at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eastside Senior Center, in Joan’s memory.
Joan was born in Flint, MI on December 18, 1938, daughter of the late John and Evelyn “Chickie” (March) Kitcher, Jr. She married Thomas E. Woolley on May 13, 1961 at Central Methodist Church in Flint, MI and he preceded her in death on November 3, 2009. Joan earned her teaching degree from Mott Community College. She enjoyed playing BINGO with her friends and doing taxes for the seniors. Joan was gifted in the art of calligraphy.
Joan is survived by her 2 children, Jina M. Woolley and Chris L. (Kim) Woolley; 3 grandchildren, Marci, Austin and Kaylah; 5 great-grandchildren, Joseph, Kayleigh, Olivia, Carson and Carleigh; sister, Kay Adams of Flushing, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn “Chickie” Kitcher, Jr.; husband, Thomas Woolley and daughter, Tammy K. Hammond.
