Steven Scott Ellis, age 66 of Lapeer, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. He was born on September 9, 1950 in Campbell, Missouri to parents Clifford and Margaret (Slankard) Ellis. Steven was a faithful member at Davison Assembly Church. He dedicated 35 years of his life to the US military, serving for four years in the US Navy, 11 years in the US Army, and 20 in the National Guard. Steven enjoyed golfing and hunting, but most of all he loved and cherished his family. Steven is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cheryl Ellis; children: James (Kim) Burton, Greg Burton, Bill (Erin) Burton, Brian (Diana) Ellis, and Christi (Wayne) Jones; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; mother, Sue Ellis; sisters: Beverly (Michael) Young, Theresa Ellis; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Ellis; and his grandparents. A funeral service will take place at 11am on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc. Pastor Morris Moos officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 11am – 8pm, and again on Saturday, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10am. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Davison Assembly Church Building Fund. |
