STAFFORD, Jacqueline Kay – of Montrose, age 73 died, Sunday, August 30, 2020 at her sister’s home in Montrose, Michigan surrounded by family. Family will receive guest on Wednesday September 2, 2020, from 11:00 AM until service at 1:30PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Due to Covid 19 and government regulations, only 10 people are allowed in our chapel at one time and masks are required. The service will take place outside of the funeral home, with Fr. Jonathan Perrotta officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the MCSI, Michigan Community Service Inc.
Jacqueline was born in Saginaw, Michigan on October 28, 1946, to Raymond and Viola (Thompson) Stafford. She lived with her parents until both of their deaths and then went to live with her sister, Sharon Clark until 2018, when she was then placed in an assisted living home.
She loved being with her family and friends, watching the Detroit Tigers, her favorite soaps, game shows and was a dog lover. Her happy place was going to her MCSI workshop to be with her friends. She was a determined, cheerful, loving person who did not let her mental or physical disabilities define her. She had and infectious smile and laugh that would bring a smile and joy to anyone around her.
The family would like to thank the MCSI staff at Elms Road for the care she received and the friendships she made. Special thanks to McLaren Hospice for the tender care she received in her final hours.
Surviving are: Sister Sharon Clark, Brother Hank (Norma) Safford and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond & Viola (Thompson) Safford, Sister Nora Nails, Sister Mary Camehl, Brother in laws Richard R. Clark and Dennis Nails.
