Sadie May Putney, age 83 of Mt. Morris, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019. She was born on June 8, 1936 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to parents J.P. and Pearl (Doles) Stahley. Sadie worked as a cook for the Westwood Heights School District for 28 years. Beyond her work, she continued her love of cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her late husband, Lawrence. She was an avid reader, liked to crochet and knit, and especially loved flowers and gardening. Sadie is survived by her children: Donna Faye (Randy) Witten, Dawne Rene (Rickey) Kortas, Greg (Sherry) Putney, David (Marva) Putney; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brother, Joe Doles. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Lawrence Albert Putney; son, Lawrence Anthony Putney. A funeral service will take place at 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. |
