Marion Marie Gordon, age 87, of Flint, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Marion was born on May 6, 1938, in Flint, Michigan, to Otto and Edith Melvin. She was raised in Flint, where she built the foundation of a life centered on family, resilience, and quiet strength.
Marion will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for those around her. She had a way of making people feel welcomed and cared for, and her presence brought comfort to family and friends alike. Whether through simple conversations, shared meals, or her steady support, Marion created lasting memories with all of those she loved.
Her life was a reflection of dedication—to her family, her values, and the small moments that truly matter. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Marion is survived by her son Jim(Angie) Gordon, Grand Children; Josh(Shana) Gordon, Ryan(Lauren) Gordon and Kayli(Grant) Scott, Logan Gordon, Ben(MaryBeth) Neeley, Jeff(Erika) Clark and Tatiana(Isaac) Ferraro alongside her 11 Great Grandchildren, who will cherish her memory forever and always. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bill Gordon and her parents, Otto Bloomfield Melvin and Edith Marion Melvin.
Visitation will be held to honor Marion’s life at Swartz Funeral Home on Hill Rd. from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, March 25th. Funeral service to follow Thursday, March 26th at 11am also at Swartz Funeral Home. Funeral procession to Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI immediately following the service.
