Donald D. Schneider, age 88, of Chesaning, Michigan, passed away peacefully December 21, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Donald was born on October 19, 1937 to Harold and Caroline (Wendling) Schneider, in Chesaning, Michigan. He was one of 16 siblings. He married the love of his life, Jane (Caldwell) Schneider, on November 30, 1957. They had four daughters and shared 57 years together before her death on January 13, 2015.
Don was a lifelong farmer and mechanist. He enjoyed participating in tractor pulling in the Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association for many years. He had won numerous trophies, even winning a State Championship trophy when he was 80 years old which he was very proud of! And over the years he enjoyed watching all his grandchildren and other relatives enjoying and participating in this hobby too. There were countless great memories made there over the years. He is known by many, but especially his grandchildren and Great grandchildren as "Full Pull Papa".
Donald is survived by his daughters Shelly (Dale) Weisenberger of Chesaning, Donelle (Frank) Shaft of Parrish, Florida, Stacey (Steve) Stinson of Williamsburg, Michigan, and Jennifer (Louie) Butko of St. Charles, Michigan. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sarah (Bob) Lake, Craig (Jen) Weisenberger, Troy (Chazsi) Weisenberger, Joshua Newman, Rachelle Newman/Eickholt, Rachel Beard, Matt (Anna) McCalpin, Nicole McCalpin, and Emily, Lorissa, and Alivia Butko, along with 19 great-grandchildren.
Donald is also survived by his special friend and companion, Kay Schneider.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jane Schneider, his granddaughter Cassandra Shaft, and his parents Harold and Caroline Schneider, along with numerous siblings and brother and sister In-laws.
There will be a visitation from 11am until the time of service at McGeehan funeral homes Martin Chapel on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. A time of sharing will be held at 12pm. |
