POBOCIK, Dolores Ann (Tahash) - Age 95, of Swartz Creek, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St, Grand Blanc, MI (The service will be live Streamed and can be viewed via Dolores obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Burial 12:30 PM Friday, February 6, 2026 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Wednesday from 3-7; and at church Thursday from 9 AM until the time of Mass. A scripture service will be held at the funeral home 6 PM Wednesday.
Dolores was born November 13, 1930 in Flint, the daughter of Gerald and Victoria (Joo) Tahash. She was a 1948 graduate of Bendle High School; and then received her LPN from Flint Vocational School of Practical Nursing. She married Joseph Richard Pobocik November 12, 1949 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton and he preceded her in death July 10, 2014. She had resided in Swartz Creek since 1957. Dolores retired in 1995 from the Swartz Creek Community School System as a secretary; she previously was a nurse for 4 years. She was member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc. She served on the Swartz Creek City Council, where she served one year as Mayor Pro Tem. She also was a member of Swartz Creek Senior Center and The class of 1948 Bendle High School Reunion Committee. Dolores and Joe enjoyed traveling, they visited all 50 states and over 35 countries.
Surviving are: her children, Katharine Mason of Florida, Rebecca (Gary Ashford) Pobocik of Virginia, Matthew (Christine) Pobocik of Lennon, Paul (Tami) Pobocik of New Lothrup, Chris (Linda) Pobocik of North Carolina, Rita (Martin) Pobocik Bailey and Andrew Pobocik of Swartz Creek; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; sister, Janet Hintze of South Carolina; brother, Gerald (Clare) Tahash of South Korea; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Victor and Mark Pobocik; and brother-in-law, James Hintze. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
