MOFFITT, Thomas F. – of Clio, formerly Fenton, age 71, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at his residence. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12PM on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Calvary Community Church. 1201 West 12th St. in Flint. Pastor Sid Fullwood Sr. officiating. In memory of Thomas, contributions may be made to his family.
Thomas was born on February 7, 1943 in Church Hill, Tennessee to the late Tony and Edith (Mullins) Moffitt. He married Janice K. LeGrand on July 17, 1993 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Thomas had a love for woodworking and was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He built beautiful docks and decks throughout the Fenton area. Thomas loved kids and was very close with his grandchildren. He was an avid bowler and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
Surviving are: loving wife, Janice Moffitt of Clio; daughters, Tamara (Kenny) Baker of Ohio and Chantel Nicole (Brian) Pierce of Tennessee; step daughters, Lisa (Timothy) Walker of North Carolina and Julie (Ande) Kirby of Flint; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Patricia) Moffitt of Florida; sisters, Karen McClellan, Teresa (Mike) Hopkins and Alice (James) Banner all of Tennessee.
