ROGERS, Theodore “Ted” – of Mt. Morris, age 90, passed away May 22, 2019 at McLaren-Flint. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Vince Messina and Pastor Aaron Burton co-officiating. Graveside Service will be at 4 PM Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Richfield Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday and 10 AM until time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Morris Community Church.
Ted was born in Rogersville, MI on March 5, 1929, son of the late Wallace and Nellie (Wager) Rogers. He remained in Rogersville his whole life. He married Margaret Flora on June 15, 1957. Ted graduated from Eastern Michigan University with his Bachelors Degree. He was very involved at Mt. Morris Community Church where he taught Sunday school and served as Elder and Deacon. Ted served on many boards, Richfield Township Treasurer, Genesee County Soil Conservation, Genesee County Farm Bureau and was a sponsor at the Genesee County Fair birthing tent. He owned and operated Rogers Elevator, working there since he was 12 years old.
Ted is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Alison (Jeff) Bayley, Ted (Tammy) Rogers and Kevin Rogers; grandchildren, Brendon (Sarah), Colin (Elizabeth), Jared (Ellie) Bayley, Theo Rogers, MD (Julia) and Craig Rogers; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Wallace Rogers; sister, Harriet Benson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill and sister, Rose Mary.
