Tinnin, Melvin L., Sr. – of Clio, age 89, died Saturday, July 21, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ted Stevens officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 PM and Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for Melvin’s great-great-nephew, Buddy’s brain tumor treatment.
Melvin was born May 21, 1929, in Vanduser, Missouri to the late Charles and Nancy (Gromer) Tinnin. He married Lois Sherman on January 20, 1961. He was employed by Buick Motor Division in the Power Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1979. Melvin had resided in Clio the past 54 years. He was a member of North End Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, boating, shuffleboard, music, and playing the guitar.
Surviving are: Wife, Lois; 3 children: Melvin Jr. (Jacqueline) Tinnin of Clio, Brenda Clark of Flint, Terry (Shellby) Russell of South Bend, IN; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews. Melvin was also preceded in death by 8 brothers and 5 sisters. The family would also like to thank Absolute Hospice for their great care.
