WILSON, Sandra Marie (Smith) – of Burton, MI, age 82, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Chaplain Wally Rose officiating. Private interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Tuesday, June 16, 2026 and 10-11 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Sandy’s memory.
Sandy was born in Pontiac, MI on October 25, 1943, daughter of the late Durell and Mary (Burleson) Smith. On October 27, 1973, Sandy married the love of her life, John Wilson, beginning a marriage filled with devotion, companionship, and countless cherished memories. A graduate of Kearsley High School’s Class of 1961, Sandy dedicated nearly three decades of service to the AC Spark Plug Division of General Motors, retiring in 1993 after 29 years of hard work and commitment.
Sandy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved settling in to watch her favorite episodes of NCIS, trying her luck on trips to the casino, and spending time with those she treasured most. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her love, guidance, and unwavering support. She also shared a special bond with her faithful canine companion, Ranger, who brought her comfort and companionship through the years. Sandy will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and the love she freely gave to those around her. The memories she created with family and friends will be treasured forever, and her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John Wilson; 4 children, Jamie Arevalo, Terri (Preston) Jones, Michael (Raquel) Wilson and Kimberly Reed; 9 grandchildren, Collin Wiencek, Caitlin (Hunter) Haffner, Rose (Carson) Turnbow, Ashley (Josh) Franciscy, Tristan (Sarah) Wilson, Mikayla Wilson, Billy (Kim) Hampton, Jessica Broniak and Jeffrey Reed; 9 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Durell and Mary Smith; granddaughter, Alexis Arevalo; sister, Sherry (Gene) Guiles; 2 brothers, Arden (Jean) Smith and Eugene (Nilda) Smith.
