Goldner, Maurine of Flushing, age 88, died Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Chesaning Comfort Care. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019, at Rossell Funeral Home. Rev. Clifford Bira will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society on behalf of Maurine’s love of animals.
Maurine was born in Flint, Michigan on October 22, 1931, the daughter of Frank and Esther (Eller) Jones. She married Leland “Stan” Goldner and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2019. Maurine was a lifelong member of Flushing United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothing and even modeled some her pieces at Martin’s Fabrics. Maurine was active throughout her life, enjoying such things as gardening, golf, bowling, and painting. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her time on the beach in Pentwater. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Maurine is survived by her children, Linda and husband Edward Petzold, Bryan and wife Deborah Taylor, Randy Taylor; grandchildren, Erich and wife Andrea Petzold, Nicholas Petzold, Mindy and husband Jon Krueger, Matthew and wife Katie Taylor, Alex Taylor; great-grandchildren, Logan, Jeremy, Maddie, Noah, Micah, Grace, Nate, Ethan; and sisters-in-law, Sandy Jones and Trixie Jones. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Douglas Jones; and former spouse, Gerald J. Taylor.
