Age 76, of Mt. Morris, peacefully died surrounded by family on Thursday, June 25, 2025 at MyMichigan Medical Center of Saginaw. A Celebration of Life will be held at her home from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 5366 East Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, Michigan. Barbara “Bobbie” Diane Shock was born on April 20, 1949, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Morris and Cathy (Cole) Beadle. Educated locally, Bobbie graduated from Genesee High School in 1967. She met, fell in love with, and married Earl Shock on August 26, 1975. Sadly, he would precede her in passing on March 22, 2012. Bobbie worked at the Genesee Hardware in the early 1990s, where she would grow a connection with the community. Eager to help grow the minds of the community, she began working as a paraprofessional with Genesee High School. As her love for her work grew, she went back to school and obtained her bachelor’s degree in 2015 from Ferris State University. Shortly after graduating, she would retire in June of 2015.
In her free time, Bobbie loved to spend time outdoors. She grew a lavish garden that was full of many different flowers. Additionally, she loved going on various adventures, including going to the family cabin and visiting her daughter, Chrisi, at the Oregon coast. Always looking for a good deal, she would often frequent the local thrift stores and yard sales. When Bobbie was home, she would often be found watching Jeopardy or reading a good detective novel. Most of all, Bobbie enjoyed spending time with her family. She would enjoy going to the movies with her beloved, Larry, as well as going to music festivals with her daughter, Chrisi.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband: Larry; her three children: Sam Shock, Scott Shock and his wife, Jennifer, Chrisi Shock and partner, Jason Garrett; her two step-children: Candace and husband, Michael Harmer, Monica and husband, Patrick Tippit; her four grandchildren: Meagan Palmer and husband, Kirk Garren, Danielle Shock, Trevor Shock, Samantha Voelker; her brother: Craig and wife, Susanna Beadle; her fur babies: Billy and Buster; as well as many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her late husband of 36 years: Earl Shock; her parents; and her brother: Allen Beadle. |
