BAIRD, ROBERT– Of Burton, age 89, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2025, at Vibrant Life in Durand.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Visitation will be at 12pm Wednesday until the time of service.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Robert was born in Flint, Michigan, on May 14, 1936, the son of the late Thomas and Verna (Erb) Baird.
Robert resided in the Flint area all of his life and was married to his late wife Darlene (Kelly) Baird for 61 years. Together they raised two daughters, Rhonda and Colleen of Swartz Creek.
Robert retired in the 90’s from Fisher Body/Buick. He was affectionately known by many as Uncle Bob.
He enjoyed nurturing his beautiful trees, long walks, traveling, car shows, car races, and spending time at Hubbard Lake with his wife, family and friends.
Surviving are daughters, Rhonda Baird and Colleen Baird; brother-in-law John Yelland, uncle to Dennis (Lori) Yelland, Patrick Baird, Joan (David and Sarah) Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Darlene (Kelly) Baird, brother Duane Baird, sisters-in-laws Barbara Baird and Pricilla “Ginger” Yelland.
