WHEELER, Dorothy Jean - Age 95, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021. A private family service will be held 8:30 AM Friday, February 26, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (A live stream of the service may be viewed on Dorothy's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Brad Foster officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. A public visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Dorothy J. Wheeler Memorial Fund, c/o the family.
Dorothy was born January 8, 1926 in Livonia Township, the daughter of Marcellus and Ethel (Kuhn) Clement. She married Howard Wheeler October 20, 1944 in Wayne and he preceded her in death February 20, 1992. She had resided in Swartz Creek for the past 64 years. Dorothy was a 60 year member of Duffield United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the Duffield United Methodist Women, and was the Education Chairperson, and member of the Board of Trustees. She enjoyed her family and helping others. The family wishes to extend special thanks to special niece, Sharon Downings of Battle Creek and the Lee family in Alaska.
Surviving are: her children, Timothy (Terry) Wheeler of Lennon, Karen Wheeler of Mt. Morris, Nancy Wheeler of Swartz Creek, and Gail (Chris) Bemis of Flushing; grandchildren, Karry (Jimmy) Young of North Carolina, Tim (Gwen) Wheeler II of Swartz Creek, Marty Wheeler of Flint Township, Angela (Chris) Larner of Lennon, and Tyler Wheeler of Lennon; great grandchildren, Kourtney, Kingsley, Tim III, Karrylin, Casey, Savannah, Cruz, and Emma; brother, David Clement of Florida; sister-in-law, Tish Wheeler of Fenton; and several other, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Lee; and 5 other siblings. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
