BUCHANAN, Gladys A.- Of Flushing, age 86, died Friday, September 9, 2016 at Genesee Gardens.
Funeral service will be held 12 Noon, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor David Galbraith officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Peace Presbyterian Church.
Visitation 10am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Gladys was born in Flint, MI on July 9, 1930, the daughter of Herbert and Evelyn (Crall) Esson.
Gladys married Robert Buchanan on September 12, 1976.
She volunteered for the Humane Society and Crapo Senior Citizens. For 25 years, she enjoyed spending her winters in Texas. She was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church.
Gladys made draperies for Doran Drapery and Sears for 24 years.
Surviving are two children, Diane Chema and Carl and wife Debbie Leach;
three grandchildren, Sam Chema, Carl Chema and Melisah Leach;
several great-grandchildren;
sisters, Louise Burrow and Betty Tahash;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on October 16, 2015, parents, and sister, Doris Landry.
