With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sally Dianne Pajtas, age 87, of Owosso, who peacefully departed this life on April 8, 2025, surrounded by her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Owosso, officiated by Fr. Michael O'Brien. Sally will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 2 PM to 8 PM, with a rosary being prayed at 7 PM.
Born on April 18, 1937, in Flint, Michigan, Sally was the daughter of Frank and Helen (Coleman) Sabo. She was a proud graduate of Mary Crapo High School, Swartz Creek, the class of 1955.
Sally dedicated her life to her family and community, making significant contributions throughout her years in Shiawassee County. As an active member of the County Republican Party and the County Farm Bureau (affectionately known as the Full of Fun Farmers), she played a vital role in various organizations. Sally earned recognition as Realtor of the Year and served as the past president of the Shiawassee County Board of Realtors. Additionally, she was a beloved 4-H Leader for Dog Obedience and past president of the Corunna Band Boosters.
She found joy in sewing, crafting greeting cards, and spending cherished moments at the family cottage with her children and grandchildren. Her love for the outdoors was evident as she enjoyed gardening, boating on the pontoon, and camping with family, often hosting large gatherings filled with laughter and love.
In a beautiful union that spanned 67 years, Sally married her forever best friend, John S. Pajtas, on August 31, 1957, in Swartz Creek. Together, they raised five wonderful children, with Sally nurturing and guiding them as a dedicated homemaker. She later pursued a successful career as a realtor, retiring in 1999 after 12 impactful years.
Sally's legacy lives on through her loving children: John S. Pajtas Jr.; Linda (John) Pappas; Bethany (Bart) Bittinger; Nadine Pajtas; and Dennis (Lisa) Pajtas. She was a proud grandmother to John F. (Cassie) Pajtas; Kelli (James) Thompson; Lindley (Jordan) Dooge; Jason (Julie) Pappas; Matthew Pappas and Gregory Pappas; Colleen (Mike) Anders; Jeffrey Bupp; Justine (Dirk) Boon; Austin (Melissa) Fisher; and Alaina Fisher; Ashley Pajtas and Christopher Pajtas; as well as 11 great-grandchildren (with two more on the way). She is also survived by her brother, Robin (Diane) Sabo; sister-in-law, Margaret (Richard) Waters; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Sally was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Franklin Sabo.
In honor of Sally's memory, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or The Friends of Corunna Historical Village, organizations that she held dear.
