KILBURN, Russell L. – of Clio, age 84, died Friday, January 13, 2012 at Gross Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, January 16, 2012 at West Vienna United Methodist Church - 5485 W. Wilson Rd. in Clio. Pastor Billie Lou Gillespie officiating. Burial in West Vienna Cemetery. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 1-9 PM and on Monday at the church from 11 AM until time of services. Contributions may be made to the West Vienna United Methodist Church.
Russ was born in Ferndale, MI. on September 25, 1927 to the late Wilson and Jean (Sundal) Kilburn. He was a resident of Clio most of his life. He served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. Russ married the love of his life, Marjorie McCully on December 23, 1946. Mr. Kilburn retired from CSX Railroad in 1992 with 29 years seniority. He was also a bus driver for the Clio Schools for many years. Russ was a member of West Vienna United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #158. Besides his family, his passion was farming and tinkering.
Surviving are: wife, Marjorie; 3 children, Sherry (Donald) Marshall of Clio, Jackie (Patrick Adams) Kilburn of Pinckney, Kim (Norman) Hammond of Dowling; 6 grandchildren, Shawn Smith, Stacy (Kris) Javor, Clarissa Hammond, Derrick (Jennie) Hammond, Tessa (Jesse) Chase, Erin Kilburn; 1 great granddaughter, Addison Javor; brother, Wilson Richard (Lois) Kilburn of CA; several nieces and nephews.
