Born on July 17, 1936, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Walter and Evelyn (Dettmer) Frasz and the husband of Alice M. (Pietryga) Frasz for 66 years.

Skip, as family and friends knew him, grew up in Bay City. He graduated from Bay City Central High School, attended trade school, and retired after 41 years of service as a journeyman tool and die maker from General Motors Metal Fabricating Division in Flint, Michigan.

Skip was active in Little League Baseball and the YMCA Indian Guides with his sons, Kevin and Chris. He was a West Side Auto Employees Federal Credit Union board member for many years, and a past member of the Moose Lodge and F.O.E. Skip enjoyed flying kites, cruising, golf, boating, Bingo, and Polka music. He made several trips to Colorado with his brother-in-law and friends to enjoy the sport he was most passionate about, alpine skiing. He and his family enjoyed yearly educational destination vacations together, along with annual ski trips to Boyne Highlands and numerous summers on Burt Lake. Skip loved puttering in his workshop and could spend hours tinkering and finding creative ways to repair things. We often heard him say: The hard stuff I do right away; the impossible takes me awhile.

He leaves behind his wife Alice Frasz, four children: Lisa (Johnson) Coyle, Kevin Frasz, Kim (Daniel) Shabeldeen, Chris (Michele) Frasz; eight grandchildren:Thomas Coyle, DO, Catherine Stafinski, Mary Louise Coyle, Maliha, Everett and Anneliese Shabeldeen, Lydia and Norah Frasz; great-granddaughters: Josephine, Claire, Brigid and Winifrid Coyle; a brother, Roger (Susan) Frasz; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Walter was predeceased by one grandson, Alexander Coyle.
