ROBEY, Charles F. – of Clio, age 84, died peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his residence with family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church – 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Burial in Thetford Township Cemetery with full Military Honors. The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 12PM until 8PM, and Wednesday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church or the Clio Fire Dept. Inc. Scholarship Fund. For the safety of all visitors, masks are required while inside the church.

Charlie was born October 26, 1935 in Flint, Michigan to the late Farrel and Bertha (Conn) Robey. He graduated from Clio High School in 1954. Charlie married Violet Scheuneman on October 25, 1958 at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Mr. Robey is a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked at Wonder Bread for 26 years before retiring, and later drove for Suski Chevrolet. Charlie was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church, and the Saints Charles and Helena ushers. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Clio Fire Dept.for 54 years. He loved sports and was an avid supporter of Clio High School Athletics. Charlie enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Michigan Wolverines. Above all, Charlie loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are: Wife, Violet Robey; Son, Kevin (Kathy) Robey; Daughters: Kathy (Jerry) Wiggins, and Kelly (Dan) Hippensteel; Grandchildren: Tracy Robey (Anton Masterovoy), Andrew Robey, Steven (Susie) Ross, Jenna (Brad) Gray, Nick Hippensteel, and Faith Hippensteel; Great granddaughter, Violet Ross; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Charlie was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristin Hippensteel. The family extends a special thank you to The Medical Team Hospice for all their love and care.
